Welcome to my world!

I have been selling on Etsy for around 7 years now. I have had several stores and made over 50,000 sales.

I decided when my children were babies that I wanted to be self employed. I wanted the freedom to work when I choose and to be able to earn more than a set salary. I have always loved being creative and stumbled across Etsy and decided to give it a go!

I have tried on several other online selling sites but have always prefered Etsy. It's not always been an easy ride, so much blood, sweat and tears have gone into my stores ( my family will vouch for that!) , at times I have felt like giving up, but I have pushed through because I love what I do.

Being a full time Etsy seller means being a jack of all trades! There is so much that goes into running a store, some of which include;

Design

Marketing

Accounts

Photography

SEO

Making products

Packing

Posting

Customer Service

Fixing equipment

Buying supplies

Stock taking

I usually start the day around 6.30am. The first thing I do is check the previous days sales, renew any listings that have sold out, respond to customer messages.

Once I get the kids of to School , I start on the days orders. Print the invoices. Design any personalised/custom orders. I will then make the products. Pack them up. Purchase the postage labels and take them to the Post Office.

This can all take from 2 hours on a quiet day to up to 12 hours a day in busy periods.

Once all the days orders are packed and posted , I will go back to responding to customer messages, renewing listings, posting new products and ordering stock.

The busiest periods for me have always been Christmas and the end of the School year. Other busy times include; Mothers Day, Valentines, Fathers Day and Easter.
